Concerns About Pastor Jason M. Phillips and Creola Assembly of God Church
................................
Hello,
I am typing this email to the Alabama District Council of The
Assemblies of God because of my concerns for Creola Assembly of
God, its members, and their Senior Pastor Jason M. Phillips. I
recently was contacted about my band coming in to lead worship on
a Friday night youth night on 1/15/10 at Creola AOG. We had a
great time of worship. Whenever we were done, the event went into
a time of fellowship. Pastor Jason M. Phillips left shortly after,
the youth workers said that he had gone home for prayer and study.
The leaders then began to play loud hip hop music while we were
getting out equipment off the stage. I thought that it was
christian music but I had never heard it before. Some of them
began to get rampant dancing inappropriately, rubbing their rear
ends on one of the youth workers and shaking their butts in short
shorts to the music. The youth pastor Michael Duke then told the
teens to push back the chairs and make a dance floor. I had a few
unsaved people that I have been trying to minister to who came
along with me and they told my wife that "This place looks like
babylon, and looks a little too sexual". My wife replied "I know
thats why I'm leaving and taking my daughter out of here". We then
went outside and they began to tell me how this activity is
getting them ready for the club scene. This is not something that
should be taking place in a Church's Sanctuary. I am pretty sure
that the parents of these students do not know whats going on at
this youth night (and I am hoping that this was a one time
situation). I am so proud that a church would open their building
up for the youth to have a safe place to come that is an
alternative to the world, but what I and many others saw as
visitors to Creola AOG was not becoming of any ministry.
While we were outside talking about this and how wrong it was, we
noticed the songs that they were playing were indeed popular
secular booty shaking music. "Put a ring on it" by Beyonce and
"Apple Bottom" by Flo-Rida. Before I left I knew that if we didnt
say something to them that we were just as wrong for letting it go
down in the church. So I walked in to find one of the youth
leaders and saw Pastor Jason M. Phillips leaning on the sound
booth along with some of the worship team and youth workers that
seemed to be enjoying themselves. They were all watching the girls
on stage dancing. By this time the stage had alot of girls on it
with short shorts and some on the floor doing the "Cupid Shuffle"
a popular secular dance. One of the youth boys grabbed the mic and
was singing the Flo-Rida song to the girl who had her bottom on
his private area. I walked up to pastor Jason M. Phillips and he
shook my hand. I said "You gotta cut if off bro." as politely and
quiet as I could where only he could hear. He then turned and said
"You have a problem with it?". This threw me off. I thought he
would immediately say ok. I told him "Yeah I do." he said "Why?" I
said "Because its booty shaking music - just look at them". He
then looked at them and said "Whats wrong with it?" I said "Look,
I know its just some young teens having fun but you cant let this
go on, you gotta cut it off bro, I know its your church, but I
cant stand here and watch this, I had to make sure I told you". He
then just stared at me and I turned around and left. I did not
raise my voice but handled the situation the best way I knew how
to.
I am aware that there are certain rumors surrounding pastor Jason
M. Phillips that he mentioned in a conversation we had. The only
details that he gave me were that his former pastor that he was
serving under as youth pastor at a church in Sylacauga Alabama was
stirring up rumors about him that were untrue. I feel that these
accusations should be looked into. I had to write this email to
take the matter out of my hands and place it where it should be,
into the hands of pastor Jason M. Phillips' higher ups. I do not
want anything on my hands if pastor Jason M. Phillips or his staff
at Creola Assembly of God do anything inappropriate with the young
people who attend Creola Assembly of God.

Here are some of the lyrics from Flo-Rida's" Apple Bottom.
......................................................................
....................
That's what I told her, her legs on my shoulder
I knew it was ova, that Henny and Cola
Got me like a Soldier
She ready for Rover, I couldn't control her
So lucky oo me, I was just like a clover
Shorty was hot like a toaster
Sorry but I had to fold her,
Like a pornography poster
She showed her
[Chorus:]
Apple Bottom Jeans [Jeans]
Boots with the fur [With the fur]
The whole club was lookin at her
She hit the flo [She hit the flo]
Next thing you know
Shawty got low low low low low low low low
......................................................................
Shawty had them Apple Bottom Jeans [Jeans]
Boots with the fur [With the fur]
The whole club was lookin at her
She hit the flo [She hit the flo]
Next thing you know
Shawty got low low low low low low low low
Them baggy sweat pants
And the Reeboks with the straps [With the straps]
She turned around and gave that big booty a smack [Ayy]
She hit the flo [She hit the flo]
Next thing you know
Shawty got low low low low low low low low
[Verse 1:]
I ain't never seen nuthin that'll make me go,
this crazy all night spendin my dough
Had a million dollar vibe and a bottle to go
Dem birthday cakes, they stole the show
So sexual, she was flexible
Professional, drinkin X and ooo
Hold up wait a minute, do I see what I think I
Whoa
Did I think I seen shorty get low
Ain't the same when it's up that close
Make it rain, I'm makin it snow
Work the pole, I got the bank roll
Imma say that I prefer them no clothes
I'm into that, I love women exposed
She threw it back at me, I gave her more
Cash ain't a problem, I know where it goes
She had them
[Chorus:]
Apple Bottom Jeans [Jeans]
Boots with the fur [With the fur]
The whole club was lookin at her
She hit the flo [She hit the flo]

Patrone on the rocks that'll make you moan
One stack (come on)
Two stacks (come on)
Three stacks (come on, now that's three grand)
What you think I'm playin baby girl
I'm the man, I'll bend the rubber bands
That's what I told her, her legs on my shoulder
